Eugene Beaubien

Eugene “Gene” A. Beaubien, 78, of Goshen, NY, entered into rest on January 9, 2012, at The Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehabilitation, following a long illness.

The son of the late Alcide and Doris Beaubien, Eugene was born June 17, 1933, in Norwalk, CT.  Gene was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in the Korean War aboard the USS Wisconsin.  He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Pine Bush, NY. Gene retired from Verizon in 1989, after many years of service in the Newburgh and Ellenville sites, where he received many service and safety awards. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, of Pinehurst, NC.  He will be missed by his son and daughter-in law, Glenn and Margaret Beaubien, of Pine Bush, NY; his grandchildren, Megan and Daniel Westcott of Southern Pines NC and Craig and Kyle Beaubien of Pine Bush, NY; and his nephew Alan Ryan of Norwalk, CT and niece Patrica Gonzalez of Charolettville, VA.  He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Ryan.

Gene’s immediate family, along with Pastor Robert Hewitt, will be hosting a memorial service and picnic in celebration of Gene’s life, at a future date.  The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the staff of Valley View for their dedication and compassion.  Memorial contributions in Gene’s name can be made to the building fund of the Mountain View United Methodist Church, 91 Maple Avenue, Pine Bush, NY, 12566.
