Biography

Harriet Klein of New Windsor, New York a homemaker for the past 41 years and a resident of the area for the past 40 years died on July 20, 2010 at Elant of Fishkill after a long illness.  She was 63 years of age.

The daughter of the late William and Elsie Schwartz Frank. Harriet is from New York, or more accurately from Brooklyn and she was the antithesis of all the New York stereotypes.  At once warm and caring, dedicated and tough, she grew to become a fierce advocate for her children.

Harriet graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964 and married Bob Klein in 1969.  They have 3 sons Adam and his wife Karen Klein of Chicago, Ill, Eric and his wife Jennifer of Wappingers Falls, New York and Jeff Klein of Austin, Texas.

Harriet is also survived her brother Harold Frank of Delray Beach, Florida and her 4 grandchildren Lara, and Lexi and Joshua and Zachary, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her sister Rosalind Brown.

Harriet attended BOCES legal secretarial school in 1980 and worked in a law firm throughout her married life until she became ill in the mid-1990's.  However fulfilling the work may have been though, this was not what drove Harriet. In reality she was dedicated to her family and this passion, for her, was all consuming.  She devoted her life to her three sons, and was involved in every aspect of their lives, from Little League to music, art and education.  Her sincere dedication to her children was instrumental in shaping her boys into the men they are today.
