Biography

Alberta T. Maass a 43-year resident of Chester, New York passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her daughter's home in Westtown, N.Y. after a courageous battle with breast cancer.  She was 68 years of age.

The Daughter of the late Ernest Wolfe and Julia Westerholm, she was born on November 1, 1941 in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Survivors include her husband Richard, and their children, daughter Jennifer and husband Jason, daughter Danielle and husband Alex, daughter Erika and husband John, her Sister Irene and husband Jerry, her brother Douglas and wife MaryAnn, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Kristine.

She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Jason, Morgan, Victoria, Nathan and Harrison.

She was a longtime Parishioner of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Chester, N.Y., and was a member of the "Lightfoot Ladies."  She was a Para Teacher at BOCES in Goshen for nearly 20 years.

Alberta is an inspiration to all who knew her and will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 1, at St. Columba R.C. Church, 29 High Street, Chester, NY 10918.

Burial will follow at St. Columba Church Cemetery, Route 94, in Chester, New York 10918.
