Biography

Henry F. Reimer of Monroe a retired 34 year employee and Supervisor for the City of New York Department of Sanitation and 36 year resident of Monroe, died February 27, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center Arden Hill Campus Goshen, New York.  He was 83 years of age.

 

The son of the late Henry and Rose Coffrey Reimer he was born in the Bronx on April 2, 1926.

 

Henry was a Veteran of the United States Army having earned the rank of Sergeant and served his Nation in the Battle of the Bulge.

 

Survivors include his life partner Cecelia H. Ventura at home and children John Ventura, Karen and her husband John De Mario, and Diane Aprea, along with his grandchildren David, John, Taylor, Dana and Kara and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive him.  Henry is also survived by his brother Bobby Reimer.

 

Henry was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Helen DeSpaltro, his brother Ralph Reimer, and his best friend John Ventura, Sr.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 during the hours of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church 26 Still Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

 

Burial will follow with full military honors at Orange County Veterans Cemetery 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York 10924.

 

Memorial Contributions to the Regional Kidney Center, 331 Route 17 M, Harriman, New York 10926 for individual's who can not afford treatment in Henry's name would be appreciated by the family.

Henry...Thank you for being such a great daddy and pop-pop. You were such an amazing thoughtful man. I was so lucky to have you as my dad. I know I thanked you many times and told you I loved you, I just hope you really knew how much. I am going to miss you so much.
