BiographyArthur Russell “Artie” Schupner, 61, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday February 14, 2010 at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Schupner was born on December 14, 1948 in Nyack, New York and was a son of the late Edward Joseph and Lillian Edwards Schupner. Artie was a Mail Carrier for the United States Post Office for 33 years, prior to his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Branch #2550 of the National Association of Letter Carriers; the Loyal Order of the Moose #2267 in Fort Lauderdale, FL; and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3700 in Oakland Park, FL. On February 7, 1987 he married Carol Roberson Schupner who survives. In addition to his wife, Artie is survived by a son, Arthur Schupner Jr, and wife Cassandra of Tea, South Dakota; two daughters, Tara LaGuerre and husband Jay of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Michelle Schupner of Tamarac, Florida; six brothers, Charles Edwards of West Fulton, New York, Edward Schupner of Montgomery, NY, Lawrence Schupner of Chester New York, Kenneth Schupner of Middletown New York, John Schupner of Congers New York, and Ronald “Ron” Schupner of Shenandoah, VA; one sister, Diane Wancho of Middletown, NY; three grandchildren, Antonio Heredia, Avery Schupner, and Brynn Schupner; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday February 19, 2010, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center, 3 Hudson St., Chester, New York, 10918. 845.469.2525. www.flynnfh.com. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2 PM at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Shenandoah, VA with Pastors Mark Briehl and Patty Covington officiating.
