Monroe, New York

 

Georgene L. Ladka of Monroe, New York a 35 years resident of the area died February 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 68.

 

The daughter of the late George & Jean Liska Wetherall, she was born on June 25, 1941.

 

She was an office administrator for MJS Engineering in Goshen, New York

 

Survivors include her husband Charles J. Ladka; their children, Gary Ladka of Margate, Fl and Peter Ladka and wife Janet of Warwick NY; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer and Amy of Margate, Fl; and Brooke, Ethan, Alexandra, Autumn and Aaden of Warwick, NY.  Her sister Diane Scaplehorn of Palm Bay, Florida also survives her.

 

She was pre-deceased by her parents and a brother George Wetherall.

 

Georgene had a passion for her family and her favorite past-time was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom affectionately referred to her as “Nana”.  She was also dedicated to excellence in all her professional efforts throughout her diverse career. Her employers were all endeared to her and considered her more a part of their family than an employee.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 during the hours of 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, February 14, 2010 during the hours of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

 

The family will hold a Memorial Service prior to the funeral mass at the funeral home on Monday, February 15, 2010 during the hours of 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM

 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart Church, Stage Road, Monroe, New York at 10:00 AM.

 

Burial will be at held at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York 10924

 

Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, would be appreciated by the family.

Dear Ladka Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the baseball games. She was so proud of you Peter with the program you run, Beautiful People. If it was not for my son Timmy we never would have met, I thank God for my son every day and I thank God for bring people like you Peter into our lives. I know the love from your mother has made you the person you are today. I hope in time you and your family can think about all the wonderful memories you have of your mother. Dear Charlie, Gary, Peter and family, Can't tell you how shocked we were when David called To tell us of Georgene/Mom's passing. I'll always remember how we laughed, cried, shared, and worried needlessly together. I remember all of the fun times at the lake. Georgene was a good and true friend. She will always be with us. Charlie, we remember you and your family in our prayers and express to you our deepest sympathy. Jim, Ann and family.
