Biography

 

Ivan Kurlander, formerly of Blooming Grove, N.Y., a commercial driver, presently employed by A.H.R.C., Campbell Hall, New York, and life long resident of the area died Friday, January 29th, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. He was 52 years of age.

 

He is the son of Dorothy Kurlander-Loonam, and the late Norman Kurlander.

 

He was a member of the Teamster Local 445.

 

Ivan was a kind and loving son, husband, nephew, brother, and our best friend. He enjoyed fishing, boating, cars, motorcycles, and his family and friends. He had a generous heart, gentle spirit and terrific sense of humor. He always sought to make life better for his family, and to make a positive difference in the lives of all the people he met throughout his lifetime. His family is comforted knowing he will be joined in heaven by his father, grandparents, various relatives, friends, and beloved beagle, Peanuts.

 

Survivors include his wife Irene Kurlander, his mother, Dorothy Kurlander-Looman, his brothers; Alexander Kurlander and his wife Irene, Steven Kurlander and his wife, Suzanne, Frank Kurlander and his wife, Nancy, uncle, Raymond Kurlander, uncle Ronald Kurlander and his wife, Judy, mother in-law, Betty Moran, brother in-law, Christopher Moran and brother in-law, Joseph Moran. Eight nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 5th, 2010 during the hours of 4:00 PM to 7:00PM, with a life celebration at 7:00 PM at Flynn Funeral and Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950.

 

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
